At MasterShield Records,

we strive to seek out those artists who define attainable goals in the bluegrass and gospel arena. We look for artists who not only recognize their God given talent, but also know the benefits of steadfastness in producing quality music. Our desire and prayer is to touch the lives of those we meet with music that reaches beyond the ordinary and leaves a message of lasting value.

I met a young singer, songwriter in 1998 who was struggling to take his music to a higher level, and from his encouragement and prodding, I decided to get involved in bluegrass music. Consequently,  MasterShield Publishing was formed in 1999, followed by the forming of MasterShield Records in 2000.

It’s been a continuing journey of ups and downs, but with a lot of satisfaction, knowing that we are accomplishing many of the dreams and goals that were conceived at the onset of MasterShield’s  creation.

It has always been my desire to be involved in music. Even as a child when I had very little access to the opportunities afforded most people, I had music in my soul that just needed an outlet.  Where that love for music has taken me today, I could never have envisioned. 

I have no problem believing that God has a plan for my life and has various means of bringing me to that ultimate destination.   Thanks be to Him! ………….............Verna Rodes, President
